Today I would like to let you all know about one of our Indian festivals.

As we all know festivals are the only occasions that bring people closer and help create a strong bond of humanity. Festivals are a significant part of our Indian culture. One among those includes Raksha Bandhan.

“Raksha” means Protect and “Bandhan” means Bond.

So, it just means a bond of protection or care. It’s basically a sister-brother festival wherein sisters tie an amulet called Rakhi around the wrist of their brothers. It signifies that the brother takes responsibility to protect and care for their sisters. Sisters also receive gifts in return. It is celebrated in the month of August and unfortunately, I couldn’t be a part of it even this year.

Let us use the festive occasions to develop good bonding with our family and friends.
